BRAC NGO Tangail’s Bhuapur branch office has received allegations of lifting the national flag half-way on Victory Day. At the BRAC office on Friday (December 15th), the flag was seen half-way.

It is learned that the national flag was hoisted half-way on Thursday (December 14th) at the Bhuapur branch office of BRAC NGO. As the office holiday, the hoisted flag is half-finished till Friday (December 15). Later, when the journalists went to the BRAC Bhuapur branch, the flag was flagged off by the senior officials of BRAC when they saw the flags half-masted. Freedom fighters and locals have expressed anguish over the issue of hoisting the flag with disrespect.

Locals said that due to the negligence of NGO officials, the national flag was disrespected and raised half-way. On Thursday night the flag was also in that condition.

Branch Manager of BRAC Bank, Bellal Ahmed said that the office was closed on Thursday two days before the Victory Day. The office did not issue the peon flag. Besides, there was not enough rope in the flag which was raised in the flag. As a result, the flag was half-dimensional till Friday night. The flag was flagged on Friday night after getting orders from BRAC senior officials.
