Symposium on water pollution, purification held

DHAKA: Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) arranged a daylong symposium on ‘Environmental Chemistry for Securing Water Quality’ recently.

The function was held BCSIR building in the capital city on July 30. Minister of Science and Technology Yeafesh Osman inaugurated the symposium.

BCSIR Chairman Md. Faruque Ahmed presided over the program, while Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology Md. Anwar Hossain and professor of Dhaka University M. Anwar Hossain were present as the special guests.

The title sponsor of the symposium was Pureit, the leading water purifier brand of Unilever Bangladesh Ltd.

About 200 local and foreign experts joined the symposium and presented 89 research articles on water pollution and purification.

Everyone expressed concern over the water pollution across the world including Bangladesh and safe drinking water for all.
